Connect the Prescription, Payment, and Medicine Handover
Follow one clinic visit through consultation, billing, payment, and batch-level stock deduction.
Your team should not have to re-enter the patient and medicine at each desk. A connected pharmacy counter workflow lets the doctor prescribe, the cashier collect, and the pharmacist dispense from the same record while each person keeps a clear role.
| Stage | Record carried forward |
|---|---|
| Booking | Patient, doctor, service, and time |
| Consultation | Findings, generic medicine, dose, and duration |
| Pharmacy review | Price, quantity, available stock, and prescription class |
| Billing | Consultation and medicine under one amount due |
| Payment | Amount applied, change, and receipt number |
| Medicine handover | Batch used, quantity dispensed, and stock remaining |
Set the counter up to protect each handoff:
- Let the pharmacist confirm the prescription order before the cashier takes payment.
- Deduct from the eligible batch with the nearest expiry date.
- Check all order lines before moving stock so a shortage cannot create a partial record.
- Ask the next operator to sign in after each shared-counter sale.
- Keep anonymous walk-in purchases separate from patient charts.
Review revenue by payment applied, not cash tendered, so change never increases income. Trace each payment and dispensation to the staff member who handled it.
