Prescriptions lets doctors create a clear, printable prescription right after the consultation — complete with the clinic's details, the patient's name, and the doctor's license information.

What it does

• Builds a prescription with one or more medicines, each with dosage and instructions.
• Offers clinic-first suggestions as the doctor types: the clinic's recent choices, its medicine catalog, then matching reusable combinations saved across CareClinic.
• Filters dosage by medication, then frequency and duration by medication and dosage. Every filled value stays editable, and a doctor can type a new combination.
• Supports the keyboard throughout the list. Arrow keys move between choices, Enter accepts one, and Tab accepts the highlighted choice before moving to the next field.
• Lets the doctor note a preferred brand for a medicine when it matters.
• Can be written straight from the appointment screen once the consultation's diagnosis and treatment are recorded, so the whole visit is handled in one place.
• Produces a neat PDF on a full US Letter sheet or a portrait half-bond sheet (5.5 × 8.5 inches), ready to print or share — carrying the clinic's uploaded letterhead and the visit's reference number. The half-bond layout keeps printer-safe margins around the signature and verification block.
• Includes a follow-up date so the patient knows when to return.
• Prints a QR code beside the doctor's signature, so a pharmacy can confirm the prescription really came from your clinic.
• Keeps every prescription on the patient's record for next time.

Reusable combinations are learned from successful prescription saves. CareClinic shares only the medication, generic name, brand, dosage, frequency and duration. The shared catalog does not identify the patient, prescriber, appointment, prescription or clinic that saved a combination, while each clinic's own recent choices remain first.

When Pharmacy & Inventory is enabled, the selected medication shows whether that clinic has approved, unexpired stock available. Green means available and orange means out of stock. This is a stock prompt at the time of writing; it does not reserve medicine or replace the pharmacist's checks.

Built for Philippine prescribing rules

• Generic name first. The generic is captured separately from any brand and printed first, with the brand in parentheses after it, alongside the Generics Act notice that the patient may be dispensed an equivalent generic. A prescription naming only a brand is refused.
• Dangerous drugs. Classify a medicine as an S2 dangerous drug and the platform asks for the prescriber's S2 licence number and the serial of the PDEA Yellow Prescription Form, prints both, and keeps them in the prescription log.
• Your rules, your strictness. Each check can block, warn, record, or be switched off per clinic — and whichever you choose is recorded against every prescription written under it.
• Expiry warnings that single out controlled stock. Pharmacists are told when regulated medicines are nearing or past expiry, separately from ordinary stock and at a higher priority.

• The same rules everywhere. Whether a prescription is written on the prescription screen, in the Rx box on an appointment, or through the API, the same checks apply — an integration is not a way around a rule you set.
• Marked on the paper. A medicine your clinic has classified as controlled prints a plain DANGEROUS DRUG marking and a dispensing notice, in black and white so it survives a photocopy.
• Marked on screen. Controlled and prescription-only medicines carry a colour-coded label wherever they are listed, always with words alongside the colour.
